DR. DAVID R. KOEPPEN
David R. Koeppen received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1983.
He is a CPA in his home state of Montana where he graduated from the University of
Montana. Prior to coming to Boise State University in 1986, he taught at the University of
Wisconsin-La Crosse for six years. He has received awards at both schools for outstanding
teaching. Dr. Koeppen's teaching and research interests deal primarily with financial
reporting issues. He has published articles in a variety of professional and scholarly
journals, including Issues in Accounting Education, The Accounting Historians Journal,
Management Accounting, Business Insights, and Accounting Horizons. He is also the author
of three books on computer applications in accounting. Dr. Koeppen is an active member of
several professional associations including the Institute of Management Accountants and
the Idaho Society of Certified Public Accountants. Dr. Koeppen's hobbies include hiking,
backpacking, and kayaking.
